Borderline Personality Disorder is a mental health disorder under the classification of “personality disorders.” Basically this means that the disorder does more than just affect our mood, it shifts who we are as an individual. The analogy I like to use to describe this effect is the difference between the weather and the climate. While weather tends to shift more steadily and is dependent on the time of day or the season, climate is a more sustained system. I live on a Caribbean Island; our winter is most people’s spring. In December – when it should be cold out – it’s roughly 70-75 degrees. For us, that’s freezing! We are always shocked to see tourists in flip-flips, shorts and t-shirts; meanwhile we locals are wearing 2 and 3 layers of clothing. With BPD, the weather does change but there is a sustained level of distress because the climate is stable.
I go into more detail about this in my book and offer much more insight into what Borderline Personality Disorder is, the signs and symptoms as well as the sub-types. Most importantly, I go into detail about how to address the challenges of BPD that few people talk about. Topics like passive suicide, medication and it’s side effects, how doctors tend to treat you and how to deal with it and so much more.

The website is currently under construction but will be fully operational by the end of April. The book will be available for preorder May 2025. As May is also Borderline Personality Disorder Awareness Month, there will also be a sale! Stay tuned for updates on the official website launch, the pre order date and the official launch date and event.
In the meantime, you’re welcome to check out the blog that started it all for more personal and intimate details of my journey with BPD.
